A quick clue is to look at the fan, which direction would it turn to scoop air? Also, practically all car engines turn the same direction. There are very few exceptions like Corvair and an obscure 700cc air cooled Toyota from the early seventies, and some Hondas.

A more accurate way is to look at the timing tab (for engines that have an external tab). The balancer rotates from the advanced degree marks towards the zero mark. For example, on this Oldsmobile, the balancer rotates from the "12" degree advaned mark at the top to the zero mark, which is clockwise when viewed from the front of the engine.

"What is the rotation direction of the Crankshaft, from the front or rear of the engine ?"

Answer = The front and the rear of the Crankshaft always turn in the same direction.

Sorry guys, I just could not let that one go.

Lord, I hate being cooped up for another month.........................
