Guest
The recent post on engine colors prompted me to look at what the WPC site had. I was suprised to find that my engine colors didn't seem to match what was on the chart. If I read it correctly, 61 V8s were either red or black with gold accessories. The engine in my 61 Windsor is silver with red valve covers. The only idea that I have come up with is that my engine is neither a Golden Lyon nor a Commando, just a 361 2 bbl. which is not listed . Any other answer frightens me.Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks,Ray <img src="/ubbthreads/images/icons/confused.gif" alt="" />
mopar380
Hi Ray,Ian here again. The canadian 361 engines were usually silver, but not positive on the 1961 s. All the 1960 361 engines on Chrysler and Dodge were painted silver, including the valve covers. The Golden Lion engines were US production only as far as I know, and only the 383 and 413 were known as Golden Lion engines, not the 361. However I could be wrong.
