Thanks Jeff

I hope everyone is well and stays well enough to attend these events when they are rescheduled , in the meantime to stay connected to our old car interests keep reading the Forums, the club publications and car magazines. if the weather is good enough get out in your garage or if not then build a model car or restore an old toy that is of the same vintage as the car you own.

I was registered for the meet hotel and with a car, I wasn’t sure if it was due to the registration or just being a member. I think anywhere you are planning on going for the next few weeks deserves a phone call before you leave........even the local restaurant or car dealership. We have several car shops shut down in Florida already. Many people have young children and the schools are closed, so the spillover is that mom’s and dad’s can’t always show up for work.

The Spring Turkey Rod Run, which was to have taken place at the Daytona International Speedway from March 27th to March 29th,  has been  cancelled.   Although not an antique-specific event, the STRR, includes a large swap meet area, featuring antique cars and car parts, and the associated car show usually has many fine examples of what are considered to be antique automobiles, trucks etc.

Although not an automotive event (it does feature quite a number of antique aircraft), the annual Sun 'N' Fun Airshow (March 31 - April 05) in Lakeland, Florida has been postponed until May 05,2020.

Let's hope we can get through this "pandemic" quickly, with a minimum of loss (human and otherwise).

Stay healthy out there,

Grog

SO an e mail was sent to CCCA members to say the annual meeting was canceled, and even after the postings here of information there is still nothing being noted on the separate CCCA website nor their area of information here on the AACA forums. Hummm Guess because it is Saturday and no one is around at CCCA to post notification.

Steve.......you would park a Packard in your garage?  Better run to the doctor........the corona virus must have you delusional..........no more exclusive Oldsmobile syndrome? You can clearly see our car in the photo.

The HCCA convention has been cancelled, per a a post by Don Plumb:

UNFORTUNATELY, our 2020 HCCA National Convention and Tour has been CANCELED due to coronavirus health concerns
We will attempt to reschedule when this health crisis has been resolved

This thread is informative but dismisses the efforts the organizers have invested in hosting you.  Please take a moment to send the folks a thank you note for putting on tours, shows, etc. you are sorry to have to miss and wish them the best.

My wife and I are hosting a tour in July, so far, it is a go, but the dining halls we have booked are now closed, by government order.  Now what, I can to find alternate arrangements.  We are on but all of our work for the past year will have to be revamped for the current reality.

Wish us luck, Gary

The big Spring Carlisle swap meet in Pennsylvania,

originally scheduled to begin April 22, has been delayed

to May 27-31.  Just in case, a backup date of June 17-20

is set aside to be used if needed.  Here is their press release:

We unfortunately had to postpone Cincinnati/Auto Park Concours  - we are the second oldest Concours d'Elegance in the United States.

The problem is June 14th just does not allow us the proper timing, plus just too much uncertainty and thinking the crowd number restrictions will still be an issue.

We hope to have some smaller "awareness" events through the year - a lot of really loyal people out there who have already expressed they miss us and want us to still have us do something they can participate in.
