Thank you all for sharing your personal photos. These are fantastic! For me, they're a much more direct connection to the period than seeing the cars in person today.

And my favorite part? Their owners are all using them as cars, not semi-static art.

Duesenberg J Murphy Beverly.jpg

This should live in Indianapolis, is original still, and pretty much looks identical to this photo other than it sports traditional Duesenberg bumpers - cannot find a photo at second, but it is dark blue.

Hers is O.A. Harkness and his Stutz along with a newspaper clipping. Over a 5 month period

O.A. drove his Stutz over 20,000 miles without any mechanical adjustment. I guess that was

quite feat back then.

At the time (1927), Harkness was the Chief Mechanical officer for the Great Northern Paper Company

in Millinocket, Maine. No doubt when they refer to nearly "un-passable roads" they are refer to the companies rough

logging and supply roads Harkness had to travel on a regular basis. One such road is the Golden Road which

extends from Millinocket to Greenville, Maine, located on the shores of Moosehead Lake.

Ok, going a bit modern here for me anyway. this was taken in May 1970 at Jondol Service station on Jericho Turnpike in Mineola, NY.

Two friends owned the business and the building dated from about 1935. The black sedan is a 1932 Franklin Airman that had a Columbia 2 speed rea end  in it and was owned by Guy Roese.

If you look at the peak of the building there is a weather vane ( it is over 3 feet wide) that was hand made and installed there when the building was new. Car depicted on the weather vane looks like a 1935-36 Dodge/DeSoto/Plymouth) That weather vane still exists and was removed from the building in the mid 1970s when the building was scheduled to be demolished . The story about the weather vane removal is to long to go into here .

This was a mis-indexed photo at LA Public Library that I accidentally stumbled onto in my quest to help Josh Malks with photos  - unfortunately it missed publication in  Cord Complete book as it was unfortunately found a couple weeks after final sign off for publication.

I don't believe much has changed today, with the younger attendees grabbing all the pieces of literature they can at a new-car show!

And is that guy immediately in front with his had over his face about to sneeze??   No wonder they closed our new-car show here abruptly last week!!

So many great ACD and Mercedes photos, how about Chrysler! Many who follow my "money pit" 1931 Chrysler CD8 Roadster saga have heard the story, my dad told me about this rare car 40-50 years ago, it disappeared for 45 years and I found it by accident in a barn in 2014 (1st photo). Car was salvaged from a scrap yard circa 1952 by my Dad's friend, then heavily modified, and used for about 15 years before falling into disrepair. Anyway, on the road to a restoration now. I tracked down guy who once owned the car (he was 95 years old in 2015) and he gave me a history, and these photos of car when he owned it in 1957, and some other old cars guys had period photos from 1966 and 1969. The Packard in the '57 photo is a very rare car, unfortunately was bought shortly after photo was taken and left to die behind a barn!  Oh the inhumanity.

As you can tell I am a little impartial to my Model Ts. Not as fancy as some of the cars many of you are posting but still a lot of fun.

Looks like a late 1910 or early 1911 Canadian car with 30 x 3-1/2  tires on the front and the rear.

They actually are really neat cars - especially with chrome tube runningboard protectors, sidemount covers, budd snap on  SS spoke covers, and ... - lots of really cool art deco details, though doubtful CCCA will ever take them in.

Would rather see the 8 cylinder Hupp than the 48 Town and Country.

This is from the 33 Motor Annual and show the complete line.   I tried to buy one of the very few convertible coupes 10 years ago.   I think there is 2 or 3 floating around.    The 3 window brought really good money (like 100k).

I assume you mean the picture and not the car.   A real SSK like that is a 30-40 million dollar car.

And BTW,   I'm digging in to my personal unpublished archive while you are sitting back there being Mr. Google.  You are sitting on some unseen stuff that you could scan and post for us while we are sheltering in place.

I don’t shelter in place......went out to lunch today at a regular spot of mine, and got the special reserved dining area in the back. I like “normal”.........that’s my middle name........Mr. Normal. I refuse to let anyone trample on my constitutional rights.........even if it kills them or me. Sometimes you need to take a stand. If I croak from this Chinese Virus 🦠 so be it..........some thing are more important than life...........

Ed, Do the Forum readers understand the reason your avatar has changed? Congratulations on another win. Was this the Rolls I saw at Pebble Beach that won the Foo Dog award? Bob

Bob......different Rolls............the PB car was a P1 York Roadster. The Foo Dog Rolls was a P2. We had it at Ocala last year. There is a photo of it in the AACA magazine this month......under Foo Dog.

Thanks for the shout out......we had a good year at the shows in 2019, and 2020 has been pretty good also!👍

It is a 540k Special Roadster.   Here it is in 1962 pictured in the CCCA magazine.
