  • Steve Moskowitz changed the title to Period Images to Relieve some of the Stresshttps://forums.aaca.org/topic/341211-period-images-to-relieve-some-of-the-stress/

This Speedster was first sold to one of the sons of food importer August Schilling in 1935. For some reason, Schilling installed the body on a Lincoln 12 frame and running gear.(last image) and the car remained in that configuration until it ended up at Harrahs (Reno) in the 1960s. Harrah's separated the Speedster body and, in 1970 sold it to a Canadian who installed it onto an 851 Superchargted Phaeton frame and running gear. The newly restored Speedster took the AACA President's Award in 1974 and, later, a Meadowbrook Lion.

That Mercedes that won the best in class at Pebble Beach in 2017 I saw during the restoration process over the course of more then a year, the real nut & blot from the frame up work , fabrication of badly battered or missing parts, etc.  all done by true craftsman that really enjoy the fact they returned the car to the way it was when new. It was done at Auto Restoration in NJ, Steve Babinsky's shop , his craftsmen are truly gifted.

While not an image I just came across this film of the 1917 Dodge Brothers assembly line:

I'm sure that some will have seen it before but it was a first for me.  The real credit or is it reel credit goes to these folks who preserved it:  https://www.filmpreservation.org/preserved-films/screening-room/dodge-motor-cars-ca-1917#

I could only get the youtube link to play on my computer.
