Mudbone
I am looking for a cork or rubber impregnated cork diff. gasket. All of the ones I am finding are thin paper. The one I purchase years ago was a cork one but I do not remember where I purchased it.
JFranklin
Try Olsen's gaskets. Or you can cut your own.
Bhigdog
Mcmaster-Carr for the material. Fairly E-Z to cut it yourself..............Bob

old-tank
I'm too impatient to wait on Bob. Get a role at Advance Auto parts or equivalent.
Matt Harwood
I've usually just used black RTV to seal up the differential cover on my cars. It isn't correct for a vintage Buick but it was how the factory did it on my 1993 Mustang so that's how I usually do it even on old cars. My '41 Buick and '35 Lincoln both sealed up with RTV without issues. Do it right and it's invisible and should last at least as long as a cork gasket. Just make sure your mating surfaces are clean and the differential cover is as flat as possible (sometimes the bolt holes get pulled a bit).
avgwarhawk
Weld it shut. Never worry about a leak again. 😁
