He figured the owners would have a more realistic value of there items if he called a few months after the ad came out and the item had not sold yet.Honestly, ten years is not a long time in this hobby. A friend of mine finished a restoration on an early '50's Bentley that had been in the same shop for something like 28 years. And I have actually followed up on ads from 1980's Swap Sheets.When I was buying '50's Jaguar stuff it was fascinating to read the papers re-chromed and refinished parts were wrapped in.Bob Steubenrauch said it best in the title of his 1967 book The Fun of Old Cars.
