Chris Reed
I am restoring a 66 buick wildcat. Parts are impossible to find so what GM chassis would share the same parts? I am trying to put tubular front control arms, drop spindles, and disc brakes on.
Frank DuVal
Look further down the main discussion topics page to the Buick section, then to the Modified Buick section. Ask your question there. Wildcat is typical GM B body car, like LeSabre of that year. C body would be Electra of that year, IIRC. Most GM divisions have B body cars. If you take off the aluminum finned front drums, make sure you list them for sale. Most everyone here wants to keep the original braking system for AACA judging. Only if you were using the vehicle for towing or racing would a brake upgrade be actually needed. 😉
joe_padavano
The 1965-70 B-body cars share a lot less than most people think. The Buick and Olds versions use completely different chassis, suspension, and brakes than do the Chevy and Pontiac versions. Pretty much nothing interchanges there. Even between Olds and Buick, there is little commonality. Of course body and interior parts are pretty much unique to each year and division. Sorry, but these cars are not popular to restore and thus are not well supported by the reproduction aftermarket. In some cases, you can't even get regular maintenance parts like ball joints and brake drums - no one makes them. Rare Parts now has availability on some of the unique suspension and brake parts, but they won't be cheap. 1
