Deciphering build sheet from 1932

Recommended Posts

I recently received the “build sheet” for my 1932 CI Coupe. Can anyone help decipher this, I believe the wood wheels are stock or it would say “wire” and amazingly I have the correct engine and body.

I must say FCA Historical was very quick to get me this letter and information!

thanks

Most of it is self-explained, but you also have data that says the build date is September 27, 1932, rather late in the year, the body came from the Kercheval Avenue plant in Detroit, has a rear gear ratio of 4:31 and has non-shatter glass which was an option in 1932.

The motor number is more than likely stamped on the driver's side of the frame near the middle or rear frame upkick like this DeSoto number....

The "CAR NUMBER" should be the one posted on the passenger side door jamb.

Yep, on the frame and the block (block is hard to read but it matches)
