Straight 8 tear down and rebuild

Recommended Posts

I noticed in the one video around 1.34 they were using an flameless inductive type heater called a Mini Ducter on a nut. Never saw one. Anyone ever use one of these? Wondering how effective they are?

I've seen them used on the TV shows on the Motor Trend channel with no mention of the brand name so to those guys it's just another tool.  Amazon sells them and 89% of their reviewers gave it 4 or 5 stars.  On Amazon, it's a little over $330.  There are a few videos on YouTube.

The inductive heaters are fantastic. Heats up just where you want to and normally come with some adaptors so a nut can be heater along a long lenght item by wrapping it around it and plugging the ends into the heater!

It did seem odd that they didn't want to use the press because it had to be aligned perfectly, but they can smack em with a sledge hammer.
