classiclines
A question came into the REO forum from Norway asking for help identifying the car in the attached old picture. Specifically the post-er wanted to know if it was an REO. Since no one has replied, I'm guessing it may not be an REO, so this forum can probably identify it pretty quickly. Anybody recognize this vehicle? Thanks, Jim Kelley California
wayne sheldon
My first impression is one of the last Maxwell cars. About '21 to '24. I am not 100 percent sure, the radiator's front is in the shadow, and something appears to be sitting on the bumper brackets (deer antlers?). A friend years ago had a '22 Maxwell touring car, with disc wheels, very much like this car. Hopefully, a couple others can be more definitive. classiclines
From a pic on the web of a 1924 Maxwell, I see the resemblance... Although the seam behind the engine cowl and the door configuration do not appear to match the Maxwell pic I found - maybe there is more than one body configuration? The antlers must have been an after-market addition. Thanks for chiming in!!
Dandy Dave
I think maybe a Chandler.
classiclines
I see the resemblance in the doors of a 1923 Chandler Model 32... But the Chandler flow of fenders into running board doesn't appear right? I also see resemblance in the doors of the 1923/24 Hupmobile Model R touring...
