A few cars rolling around Victoria,B.C. can you ID them?

The first car is an Orient Buckboard and probably the one that belonged to John Barnsley.  He was given registration #1 when B.C. started registering motor vehicles in 1904.  It seems a rather inauspicious car to wear the prestigious plate #1.  He subsequently replaced it with a Clement-Talbot (British) and then a Russell (Canadian) and maintained his number one registration throughout the teens.

Car # 4 is a 1905 or 1906 Winton and Car #5 is a 1911 Pierce Arrow.

Dan

If the number on the side lamp of car #5  is 1382, the Pierce Arrow belonged to Henry Dallas Helmcken, son of Dr. J.S. Helmcken (prominent doctor and political figure) and grandson of James Douglas (first Governor of the colony of British Columbia.)  H.D. Helmcken was a successful lawyer but he fell ill around 1911 or 1912.  He died in London, England, in 1912 (aged 52).  His remains were returned to Victoria and he's buried there.  His father, Dr. J.S. Helmcken died in 1920.

The Pierce Arrow was registered for 1911 and 1912 but not after that.   Strangely, in the picture above it seems to have a 1913 or 1914 porcelain plate on the front.  Prior to 1913 B.C. cars had leather plates which would be a different size.  Maybe it was renewed for a brief time in 1913.  In 1915 the number was re-assigned to a Ford.
