Jakeman2
Hi All: I just picked up a 1951 Fargo 1/2 ton I think it is a B4B ?? It has a 318 sitting in it, no electrical wring has been done. Can I run a 12 volt system and somehow reduce voltage, so I can keep the original gauges, ect., or is there 12 volt reproduction gauges available? Also any tips on where I can purchase cab panels (front mounts missing) would be appreciated

Rusty_OToole
You can take a center tap off the battery for 6 volts, or use a zener diode, voltage drop resistor or other device. Do you have electric wipers? They draw quite a bit of current. If you have vacuum wipers you can change all the lights to 12V then just need 6V for the gas gauge and radio. The 6v radio can be changed to 12v by changing the vibrator and tubes.
