Has any one here taken a tour of NYC with these guys?  If so, how was your experience?

I'm asking to get some feed back on the experience. I do similar tours here in Brisbane (Aust.)

My impression is that New York is such a large city, and

this tour company probably such a small player, that hardly

anyone in New York has heard about them.  I wish them

success, however, in their niche.

Certainly playing up the 1920’s aspect of it, but the faqs/photos indicate it’s actually a hot rod of some description

Looks like a Chrysler skin,  but the coil over shocks and 4 link front say it's something else underneath.

Yeah, from what I have seen, all the cars seem to be rodded.

they may find a niche, with the pressure on the horse drawn carriages that leave from the same area.  It appears that all their "restored" cars are in fact rodded.

I worked in New York City and go in about twice a month since I retired and have never seen them.

I believe they started early last year, with a decent budget from fund raising program. I first noticed their FB ads here in Australia.

If you really want to be able to see the city without walking a lot then take one of the open top double decker buses. ( in warm weather of course!!!)

A car like they are promoting to drive you around in does not have much window room/area to really see out of which is your whole point I think - to see as much as possible.

I live about 30 miles east of NY City, have been in many times in my life, done walking torus that are offered , and my choice would be the open topped bus or a walking tour.

The cars in the video look great but you are looking at the cars, you want to see the city.

Whenever I've gone, we just walk everywhere - you see more anyway and go to places you might not have otherwise

Last timw we went we used the double decker bus tour for 2 days.  We could get off and on wherever we wanted.  Great value for a narated tour.

For ways to kill an hour in NYC it is actually a pretty good value, you couldn’t spend an hour in a taxi for fifty bucks. 
 

A friend of mine runs an antique limo company in Indy and although he is running much better cars (for a guy that doesn’t like rods), his rates are much higher.

Imagine being able to walk right off of Times Square into Henry Austin Clark's Cavalcade of Cars? There's a NYC tour I would have enjoyed -Open till midnight! That must have been pretty cool.

If this is about which tour you should take, then by all means follow Walt and Paul's advice and take the open air, double decker bus tour. The tour guides are very informative and know the history of the entire route. Plus being open to the view enables you to see everything above you. Not much view from the backseat of an antique car.

 I would agree worked in NYC for 40 years, and really never paid attention to any of the "sights"
