This car was designed around the same time as the Cadillac Eldorado  Brougham which used narrow stripe whitewalls as well. Maybe a joint effort.

To reinforce the idea of special white walls and what the Tire company's might do check out this picture of the 75 pace car with FREE SPIRIT in  raised Blue letters'on the 2 Real Pace Cars at Indy

Awesome.

Larmar, thank you for posting.

How did the owner obtain it from the crew of restorers?

The only mention Steven made of it was that the previous owners Alzheimer's  had progressed to the point where he had wanted to sell. I am not sure who exactly he was referring to. I thought of you and @Centurion in particular while I was looking over the car, glad you caught this.

The current owner owns and has owned an impressive collection of “special” cars, including the 41 Cadillac Duchess image.thumb.jpeg.c7ac558bb1aaa7bc7ea60defb20ab33e.jpeg

Yea, he was telling me about them and the tens of Buicks especially. and about how many he drives each day. Pretty impressive, what a life huh!

Refocus guys, the bumper, we’re talking about the bumper

As mentioned in another post,

this fantastic car lives in a private collection a few blocks from my home-

Despite frequent viewing, as well as my offers to, at no charge, polish every accessory,

the rear-facing curvaceous ornament has regrettably not been present

That's probably why I like the Park Ward style. There have been few times that I haven't closed the door on a post war Proper Motorcar and didn't think to myself "Ah, a Roadmaster is a fine car". Quite like the Duke of Windsor.
