Charlie Chase short movie

Does anyone remember a short from the late '30's or early '40's where Charlie has an early '30's car that progressively falls apart?  Perhaps a Hal Roach production.  I recall the last scene in which he is standing at a bus stop holding the only remaining part, a bumper.  I saw it back in the day and have only a fuzzy recollection, but remember it being a funny movie.

Just a warning from a guy that tried to look this up: there is now an adult actress named Charley Chase and she has a video shot in a car as well.

you might not want to google this from work.

I googled too and found a raft of C C movies listed.   Looked at synopses of a number of them, to no avail.  No hints given by the titles.

While I'm at it, there was another short I saw in the '43-'46 time frame which involved a kid buying a Ford roadster for I think 50 bucks,  perhaps a '32,  that had been poorly repaired by a crooked used car purveyor.   Something goes wrong with the rear axle and it crashes.  May have featured Jimmy Lydon.  Anyone?

I remember a movie like you are describing, but I believe the kid bought a '31 Chevy roadster.  Him and a bunch of his friends where in the car when it developed brake problems and crashed.   Earlier in the movie the crooked car dealer that sold the car to the kid had his mechanic.   Glue some brake linings on the cars shoes hence the shoddy brakes.  I saw the short flick on TCM a while back.

I am pretty sure it is a 1924 short called All Wet. It is also Charley not Charlie. Pretty typical Hal Roach slapstick with a giant mud puddle and lots of other soon to be stars like Fatty Arbuckle and Janet Gaynor . It is on YouTube but a very bad print.

Thanks, that sounds like it!  Since I saw it over 60 years ago my recollection of the exact car "fuzzed" on me.
Does anyone know the title?

Kurt,  Thanks, but It wasn't that movie, the car involved was something on the order of maybe a '32 Chrysler conv.  and it wasn't a silent.

Update, I am better at silent films but Rattling Romeo from 1939 is about a lemon used car.

"Charley buys a wreck of an automobile that's been made to appear new by a disreputable used car dealer, but he soon realizes it's literally falling apart. He stops payment, and then must dodge possessors as well."
