Help! Steering box and column issue Buick 1949

My Buick super 1949 has been upgraded poorly to power steering. Previous owner changed it to a later model and for reasons of fitting it they had to cut and weld an inch from steering column .

its not safe driving the car now with welded column. (Pictures attached). Need to buy steering box and column to replace the ones in my car now. Can’t find original ones AT ALL. Any clue where to get them? Or if there is alternative box and column that I could buy them as set and put them in my car ?

thanks

A quick search for 1949 Buick steering box turned up a couple of possibilities. If you spent more than 5 minutes I expect you could find more.

Do you have a Buick master parts book that helps you identify if parts are common to a range of years/models?

Suggest the 1928-1952 version or close.  The best are a few years after your car was made
