1950 Riley

Not mine but on Space coast Fl. craigslist. I thought it was interesting and not a bad price.I don't know how hard it would be to get a motor though. Sorry I don't know how to send the ad. Greg.

I think these had twin cam 4 cyl.  A Miata engine transplant might be a viable path forward.

That looks like a great deal except for the title. Possibly a bigger problem than the engine from what some of you say.  An Aerostar chassis swap ! O ! the Humanity !!. Please someone save this Riley before it is reduced to scrapmetal and firewood. They have a complex coach-built body that has to be one of the most unsuitable cars out there for such a folly.

I bet Rick Simpson's is still sitting beside the house. He said he had to organize the books in his living room before he got to the car. Good donor car.

It has been a while since our paths have crossed, but very memorable and enjoyable. PM me. I can follow up.

Last I saw him he was heading off into the Canadian sunset.

Is it just me or do those early post war Riley's have a ton of style?

They definitely do.  Big following in the U.K. Strong cult car here in Canada. Seemingly off the radar in the U.S. given the very low price and hare brained ideas of the current owner. Here on the West Coast of Canada a car like that would probably be priced with a 1 in front of the current price {would be Canadian $ however } '. No title on a production car almost guarentees not able to export. A Riley 1.5 ; basically a sports version of a Morris Minor with a factory MGA engine, is worth more than that around here.

For $3,000 and a missing engine, I would put some other, but similar, engine and transmission in it. And not worry about inauthenticity.

I'm a fan of the body style, it is a handsome rig.  I have this 215 V-8 that needs a home, that is  all I can think about with
