NOT MINE: 1948 DeSoto for sale too nice to scrap

Recommended Posts

Agreed Keizer31, but what can one do with this? I suppose someone could spend $30K or more to develop a driver that would then market for $10K. Or part it out for say $2500 if you are not concerned about the time to dismantle doors, trim, handle sales, etc. Awfully large car for a rod of some sort. Like you say, way too nice to scrap. Maybe someone who loves Desotos will buy it and park it in a barn for another 30 years.

Hard to see all these good parts melted down. Hopefully someone will buy it to support their current car.

In a recent example I bought a smaller sized lot of Moar parts for about $100. So far it’s saved me about $250 from buying new parts I needed. I’ve only used 3 things! Plenty more potential savings ahead.

I cannot understand why a car entheusiest that restores a car looks at the resale value I restore because I love the old cars and I do most of the work myself Because restoring is my love I do not put a $ value on my hours .To me its my hobby not an income

I suspect that we are thinking about the old days when it was easy to make a few bucks for our efforts.

Times are a changin.

You gonna "Clear Coat" that thing Bob?

To bad the ad expired and we missed out. I love a road trip, and Denver should make for an exciting destination right about now..... Especially towing.
