Buick35
Hi,I'm getting a 1935 Florida license plate for my car and it's a one or two year only when they made an " anti theft" plate with the year on a tab that slides in at the top of the plate. The only thing is that from the pictures is that I don't see any mounting holes like a normal plate.I want to put it on the front of the car since I have a horseless carriage plate on the back. Any idea how they mount? Thanks.Greg
Phillip Cole
Pretty sure the mounting slots are on the tag behind the year tab. The tab slides in and covers the mounting bolts. gossjh
This is not a historical reply, but rather something that once worked for me. Due to rusted on fasteners, I mounted the second plate over the first using the opposite set of holes. You could try mounting a dummy plate first , then the ‘to be seen’ plate and see if the end result looks okay.
