Might be my computer, but when I try to go to these Daily Mail links they are so full of popups that I cannot read the intended articles.

It's not just your computer, but I get the same pop-up ad overload on mine.  The area of the screen covered by pop-up ads exceeds the area devoted to the articles themselves.  I may be wrong, but I believe that's the model upon which the Facebook, Google etc. wealth is based.   The pop-up to click ratio must be sufficient to support obscene corporate social media profits ... or sumthin'.

The number of pop-ups made it difficult for me to appreciate the article itself, which attempted to focus on the accomplishments of a very talented individual.

Cheers,

Grog

That's the way American works now, quantity over quality.

As far as the original post, metal workers are mesmerizing to watch.  I miss American Chopper, not because I like motorcycles (or the overarching/overwhelming at times drama of the show), but because of the metalwork they would show.  I like it when the craftsmanship is shown.  There are other shows like that on now, but they tend to skip over that part.

Not any different than the MSN garbage that pops up if you have Microsoft Edge on your computer.

I have a bunch of pop up blockers and ad blockers on my main browser and I can't even read a DailyMail article because the site can detect my addons and just throws up a big message telling me to disable all of that before I can read the article.

Uh, no thanks.

A man has built a life-size model of Luke Skywalker's iconic Landspeeder with jets - by stripping apart a golf buggy.

Inventor and YouTuber Colin Furze spent five weeks building the giant 3.7-metre-long replica of the model, which featured in the first Star Wars film A New Hope.

The 40-year-old from Lincolnshire is renowned for his inventions, including the world's fastest mobility scooter and a drivable hot tub car.

It is believed to be the only full-scale model metal Landspeeder in existence and can travel at 25mph using wheel power, and an impressive 40mph with the jets working.

Colin, from Stamford, Lincolnshire, said: 'I built it by adapting a golf buggy and as far as I know it's the only full-scale model in existence which has jets and is made from metal, the others are made from fibre glass.'

Colin, who sourced most of the parts from eBay, said he was very pleased with the result as it was the first time he had shaped metal in that way before.

He added: 'It's very comfortable to drive as the golf buggy has suspension, but I would have liked a bit more leg room.'

The YouTuber made the model ahead of the release of Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker, the final part of the current Star Wars trilogy.

He has created a replica for each release within the trilogy and in the past he has made a Tie Silencer and a giant AT-ACT.

Furze is set to release a second video of the construction project on his Youtube channel today, which includes a few 'surprises' that he added into the design.
