It's a shame they tore down the Riviera.....my favorite hotel in Las Vegas, and I always had better luck in their Casino

than in any of the others on the Strip.........and they were right across the street from the Breakfast Buffet at Circus Circus.

No ROA meet in Vegas according to the places listed on the ROA website.  We need to remember that Buick first used the Riviera name in 1949 and the Riviera Hotel in Vegas was built in 1955.  I don't think there's any ties except that Frank Sinatra drove a Buick Riviera when he was entertaining there.

Just from associating facts I figure the 1949 Riviera name had much to do with the American soldier's exposure to Europe during WWII, the French Riviera, and the newly started Cannes Film Festival. If you want a name to reflect high style those connections will do it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
