warning about virus

i have received two e-mails with aaca members names on them but they where not from them when i opened the mail and downloaded it there was a virus attached to it you can't tell till you open the mail that it is not a virus it has the members name and subject: aaca

i forward it to peter and it came back to me virus detected so peter is aware of this. my computor also detected it, anyone who does not have a virus detector be careful.

i doubt that this email came from the AACA email server. Until i can see the email in question i can't diagnose where it came from.

I've seen the forwarded email. Yup, it has a virus. No, it didnt come from the AACA server although it states "postermaster@aaca.org".

Nothing i can do from this end however as it didnt come from the aaca server - it only states it did.

Not a great answer, but its the truth.

There are several virus that , once on a computer, select email addresses from your address book then send an email to one address and use the other as the sender.

I have received many although I have no virus on my computer but am listed in someone's address book who has a virus. Probably several.
