GaryBudd
Finally found some time to look into overheating. After short trip temp goes to hot and coolant boils out radiator cap.I took the thermostat housing off today and found no thermostat. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a replacement? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Hoping you all have a wonderful Holiday. richasco
Gary, I don’t have my parts book handy to look up which type our cars use. If it’s the inline type try Restoration Supply If it uses the recessed type, then you just need to measure the diameter and compare to a modern Stant that you can get anywhere.
ckowner
Hi Gary I have a 1930 DeSoto CK6 and used a newer Mopar thermostat that was the correct diameter and drilled a few 1/4" holes in the disc to allow for some initial bypasss circulation. Works great!
