keiser31
I don't believe I have ever seen a car with this trim from the lower cowl up into the windshield stanchions....
Dave Henderson
Interesting. Wish we could see the rest of it. It must be a '30's movie prop car.

Gunsmoke
Piano hinge doors? Not sure anyone used them. So perhaps a prop car as suggested.
drwatson
Interesting, is there a title on the film?
lump
I note the monogram on her driver's door... Can't make it out though.
alsancle
I'm thinking Mercedes S or SS but I cannot match the door hinge.

The film is "The Gay Bride", 1934 with Zasu Pitts & Carole Lombard in the mystery car. https://carole-and-co.livejournal.com/934703.html
alsancle
I'm still thinking Mercedes.

alsancle
The 3 pipes confirm it. It is not an "S" because the hood looks too high. I'm leaning "SS". Edited November 18, 2019 by alsancle (see edit history)

keiser31
Yep....you are correct. Thank you very much. Another mystery solved. Here is a slightly similar Mercedes....
alsancle
The hard part of identifying any K through SS Mercedes is that they were all coachbuilt and none are really the same. The subject car looks like an English body because of how minimal it is, but the car is LHD. I have never seen a picture period, post war or now of an SS Mercedes (or S) with fender skirts and started doubting the Mercedes id when I saw them. Don't believe this car still exists, or it has been rebodied, or has been in hiding for a long long time. I wonder if the body was made up for the movie? keiser31
^Probably a custom for the movie.
