1929 commander ignition switch

Recommended Posts

I OWN A 1929 COMMANDER MODEL FD.

I PURCHASED IT WITH OUT THE IGNITON KEY. THE ON OFF LEVER WORKS GOOD.

I HAVE TAKEN IT TWICE TO A CERTIFIED LOCKSMITH AND HE HAS FAILED TO  MAKE A KEY FOR IT.

SO I AM LOOKING TO PURCHASE A NEW CYCLINDER WITH KEY OR AT LEAST ONE THAT WORKS.

ALSO INSTURCTRIONS ON REPLACING THE CYCLINDER.

ANY HELP OUT HERE?

It's called a Hershey lock. Several cars used them. Some parts use to be available. They are difficult and expensive to find now. A good locksmith can cut the key without taking it apart. CAUTION - its made of die cast pot metal, and will break and fail if not handled very gently.
