425 in lieu of a 455

I have a 1973 Riviera with a 455 that needs an engine rebuild. I happen to have a newly rebuilt 425 from a 66 GS sitting in my garage. Can I take the 425 and install it in place of the 455? What about the other way - can I put the 455 in the '66? I know they have different transmissions and probably mounting schemes, so how difficult are the modifications?

Thanks in advance,

Don

455 to 425 WAY too many things to change, just sell the 425 and build a 455.

425 to 455 LOTS of things to change (tranny is just one of them) but if you want BIG power you can get a lot more out of the 455. If you plan on leaving it stock or near stock, leave the 425.
