Number is usually on fire wall next to data plate or stamped into frame near steering gearbox. And call them with the frame number.

gdmn852
Frame number is usually near steering gearbox on top rail if it can’t be found, call Kanter and ask them what difference in parts after the engine numbers.Maybe then you can check to see what parts are on your car. Seems it was lost during earlier restoration . Is there anyway to solve this issue cos I can’t order suspension without it. As u can see in pics attached I need to know frame n. If I have to guess , it d be the earlier model as original color gala green was cancelled April 1949. help Edited November 20, 2019 by Selim (see edit history)

BuickBob49
I had problems one time when I brought my 1949 Super in from one state to another to be registered. The inspector said that the number on the out-of-state title, 15188158, didn't match the frame plate on the car, 15I88I58. After a short discussion, he finally agreed that they matched. critterpainter
RE the starter solenoid. Bobs Automobilia will not knowingly sell or accept as a core for rebuilding a 6V starter solenoid that has been used on a 12V system. Also there is only 1 12V starter solenoid that I am aware of that has the correct footprint to bolt to a I8 starter for a Buick. It was used on some tanks during WWII. I have never seen one.
