Brass is Best
Here are the Hershey auction results: https://rmsothebys.com/en/home/lots/hf19 It would appear that all the "old guys" are not dead. Or there are some new "old guys" out there.

auburnseeker
That had some weird results . Some stuff went high, other things went what seemed like quite low. I was at Hershey and found only one good car I was contemplating in the swap meet, but realized now i should have went to the auction as it had many buys that Piqued my interest in my price range. All I can think is maybe since many of the lower priced buys were from the Museum collection, then the buyer's were bidding with reserve to the true mechanical condition of the cars as many probably haven't seen much if any use in atleast a Decade.
dl456
Guys, Don't put too much emphasis on those auction results. Especially the museum cars. Many had issues not clearly visible in the pictures or representation. In my opinion there were some decent buys on the second evening of the sale.
