Choke lever 25 Dodge Brothers help. Is there a bearing?

Recommended Posts

Does the choke lever assembly at the dash have a bearing inside it? Possibly to hold choke in place when pulled out.

The choke cable on my 28 DB is self sustaining at any point you want to keep it and yours  might be the same. It is a heavy single wire so that it will not kink when pushing back . If you are looking to modify, one can be obtained from Moss motors. You will have to install a heavy retracting spring on the butter fly shaft .

I had to replace the cable core of my 1926’s choke. If memory serves correct, there is in fact a ball bearing inside that helps keep the knob portion of the choke in place.

And, of course, a spring to hold the ball against the ridges in the shaft.  Both the ball and spring should be an easy fit in the hole.

Mine is original. There might be a ball some where but I do not know. It works fine.
