Speedometer cable 59’ Edsel Ranger

Having a hard time finding the right length speedometer cable. I put a new one on but it was too long and snapped going down the road. If anyone could help me find a part number or where to get the right 5’ length speedometer cable that would be amazing

Most good auto parts stores should have a universal kit that you can cut to size

Thank you I’ll try to find a universal one.. I took measurements on the cable and it seemed to be about 5’ so I’ll see if the advanced near me has one

Speedometer cable is now the right length and size and it’s spinning, I had it working for about 10 minutes... but all of a sudden it stopped reading my speed and started making a rattling noise from the cable, took it apart and the cable still works but it still isn’t telling me any speed... any kind of knowledge about these things would be much appreciated

I would guess the speedometer drive gear in the transmission is too worn to hold a firm connection with the cable. It is usually a good idea to change it when replacing the cable. It is an easy changeout. Just take off the cable at the transmission, unbolt the old gear and install a new one.
