vette-kid
Does anyone have a diagram or picture of how the horn assembly goes together in a 36? We can't seem to remember how it goes back together and didn't take pictures as it came apart. keithb7
Is it a single horn with a long snout?
vette-kid
Yes, single horn. Sorry I wasn't very accurate, I'm talking about the horn button.

vette-kid
Thanks! Anyone know what size the retaining nut is? Edited October 16, 2019 by vette-kid (see edit history)
vette-kid
Anyone? We've lost it and need to replace it with something. It's larger than a half, but that's all we had on hand to try. So it's trial and error at this point and then try to find a jam nut in that size.
jpage
I have an extra steering shaft nut and it should be that same as my Dodge. If you wish, I can mail it to you and a picture of the horn button internals. The button must be disconnected at the bottom first so the horn wire will pull through the steering shaft. The picture should be the same for both our cars. PM me with your address if interested.

vette-kid
One success! Horn is back together and working. The button doesn't match the belt painted steering wheel exactly, but close enough!
keiser31
The horn button actually sets it off nicely as the dash has various tones, too.
