TexRiv_63
Since I have just purchased a 1934 Chevy, I have decided to sell my 1963 Oldsmobile Starfire which I have owned almost 9 years. There seems to be a million Cutlass's and 442's out there but the mid 60s Starfires are a pretty well kept secret and are comparatively rare. At most cruise-ins and shows I have the only full size Olds there, it gets a lot of attention.

We never had Oldsmobile as a dealer down here in aus unfortunately. I love the 1966 toronado and 1969/1970 442’s. Actually I like pretty much all 442’s except for the 1990’s thing.
B Jake Moran
You always have the nicest cars, but I understand wanting to move around in a hobby that offers so many options. I am a big Starfire fan. You know the genre having owned an early Riviera. I wish America would return to the age of "personal luxury cars, 2 door models with bucket seat/consoles. We can dream. 1
JamesR
Consider this car, folks. Believe me, those 394's have a whole lot of torque, even in stock form. I had a '63 2 door HT Dynamic 88 Holiday, and the Starfire 394 is even better.

My folks had a 1960 4-door-post 88 sleeper I drove some when I was in HS - didn't tell them about the stoplight sweepstakes I ran in it. 🤣 2

Why can't we be honest and just say "no, not interested in buying", instead of saying wrong color, too far away, my wife doesn't like interior, no room in garage, or gee, I just changed my mind.......and the hundred other excuses I hear. Just say no.....
JACK M
He did say he was out. I can relate to the complications of a HUGE black car. I didn't see it as an excuse, simply the reason. But I guess his wife may have had issues with the interior. But he didn't say that.

Just say no..... Car wasn't for me, was for an older friend of mine who isn't on the internet and hadn't seen it until I showed him the pictures on my computer. We discussed the car beforehand, but neither one of us brought up color. Sorry if you don't like my explanation/excuse. Take that back, not sorry, don't really car what you think, since it wasn't your car, so in this case your opinion doesn't matter to me.
trimacar
No problem, I wasn't trying to hurt anyone's feelings, it's just that it gets old hearing excuses for not buying and having fun with a car....but in this case sounds like it's the truth and not an excuse, so I apologize....
60FlatTop
Nice car, decent price. Reasons are a one to one communication. That works. Excuses are what one tells a person of authority. I already have a GM 1964 two door hardtop, don't have the space, and have trouble racking up miles on the stuff I have are reason's. If my wife asked me "Why didn't you buy that car"? And I tell her "You already have two black cars to keep shiny", that's an excuse. And she would say "Excuse me?" I like the car.

I know this is supposed to be a bad time of year to sell a car but not sure I believe that - all I need is one person who really wants this car. Here are a few additional photos. Matt Harwood
90 days is usually the minimum for most cars to sell. Around day 102 or so, for reasons I can't explain, two or three guys start sniffing around and the car sells. I don't know why this is.

2nevets
Need to see a car in person before a purchase-too many wasted trips-thats why if you were closer I would be pursuing it Went to Boston to look at a 59 caddy-not quite as described, just got back from Long Island looking at a Hudson convertible - same deal
Marty Roth
2nevets Steven? From what I know of Don Rundgren, you would surely not be disappointed in his Starfire, but a cheap flight to DFW would certainly confirm your desires and allay any suspicions. Then you could have a ball driving home, and maybe even make a side-trip to New Orleans- or at worst, catch a flight back home - We've all made those wasted trips, but they also serve to increase our base of knowledge. My guess? Don would likely arrange to meet you, as others have met us some distance from their homes. Some of my best acquisitions, following failed journeys, have been quite distant. Of the cars listed in my signature (below), and with the exception of the two 1995s (my Dad's car and one from a neighbor), all have been at least a thousand miles from home, and the best ones at far greater distance. Perseverance pays off, in my opinion Best of luck either way,
C Carl
Go for it, man ! Love, right ? Good time to be in the sunny Southland. Take Marty's advice. Have a prolonged fun trip and visit some of your friends in Florida before going up the coast. A vacation. And you don't even have to rent a car ! - Carl
