ATF for Dynaflow transmissions.

My mechanic said that Valvoline Maxlife ATF Full Synthetic would work well in my 1954 1955 and 1956 Dynaflow transmissions.

What do you think about this?

Any fluid would "work" in  dynaflow due to the simplicity with no gear changes.  But all modern fluids and especially the synthetics are lower viscosity than original fluids.  If yours has marginal pressures or small leaks, you may have problems.  You don't need a premium fluid in a dynaflow...something like WalMart dexron/mercon will work fine.

If  the trans fluid is Dexron III it will work.

In my readings of trans fluids over this past week, Supertech Transmission Fluid was rated quite highly.  Found at Walmart.
