Retired w/Reatta

Ground strap

Recommended Posts

One of the perks of having two Reattae is that you can compare cars.

For example I noticed the ragtop has a ground strap running from the strut top mount to under the brake reservoir.

The coupe does not have this strap.

Is this particular for convertibles or should my blue have one also?

Don't recall seeing that on any other Reatta.

It looks like it is going to the back side of the Teves ABS unit.

Do you think some mechanic thought it needed a GOOD ground?

It appears to be a light weight braided ground strap that is intended to bleed off static electricity to prevent radio interference. I don't know why that would be needed on a Reatta. Perhaps someone thought the pump motor was causing static in the radio when in reality the problem was bad capacitors in the radio module.
