65 Riviera rear emblem clips -

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have a source for the rear emblem clips (panel below trunk lid) on a 65 Riviera? The rear emblem has flat (rather than round) studs, so the clips are different from the front fender emblems. I haven't been able to find anything from the "usual" sources. Any ideas?

One thing you can do is install with no clips by putting 3M yellow weatherstrip adhesive on the pins

then installing the emblem. The emblems on my GTO have been held on this way for 45 years so far.

You might look through Mr. G's USA catalog on the web.

If you haven't already, check with Tim at www.rivicentral.com

Tim's got tons of stuff or might know of someone as well.

I thing you can use the same clips that hold the 63 64 horseshoe moldings. Make sure to put the clips on the script then tap it on the car. Gene.

Another consideration regarding using clips versus weatherstrip cement to hold the emblems on, is that it is extremely

easy to bend the sheet metal behind the emblem when exerting enough pressure to install using clips.......no such concern

with the glue. On my car, the sheet metal is depressed behind my rear Riviera emblem because it was removed for a repaint

45 years ago and they dented the sheet metal reinstalling the emblem.
