Badrake
"Rosco" A W Rosen - I can't find this anywhere! I've seen the lights & vases but not this. I saw one similar but not a Rosen or same shape or color. They called it a match box or match safe. It's heavy, brass I think. Does anybody know anything about it? I'd appreciate any expertise! TerryB
A match safe was popular in homes to light the stove or fireplace or oil lamps. The matches were kept in them to prevent accidental fires. That one is heavier than most I’ve seen. Tin match safes were common and many had advertising on them for a local store or appliance dealers. Badrake
I've seen some of those and this one isn't as big as the home ones and it's much thicker and heavier. There's also a heavy bracket attached to the back. I read that it's possibly an attachment or accessory Rosen made for the earlier vintage cars? lump
Love the paint. With antique fishing lures, we call that color, "Green Crackleback," and many collectors specialize in that one single color of old lures.
