Help identify this Carter carburettor ‘37 Buick???

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

i bought a bundle of Buick parts at a swapmeet and told they were for a ‘37 Buick. This Carter carburettor was in the mix but has a different mount pattern to my ‘38 which has the Marvel two barrel with a three stud mounting.

Can someone confirm it is from a ‘37 Buick or from something else. Unfortunately the brass ID tag is missing.

thanks

It isn't '38, they had either Stromberg or Marvels, and '39 used Carter WDO 419-S (which the pictured carb is not) or Stromberg AAV-26.  So, either earlier than '38 or '40 or later.  Maybe Carbking can chime in.

4 bolt is for a 320ci Century Roadmaster Limited(single carb).  3 bolt is for 248 ci Special

But may not be for a 30's or 40's Buick. Cannot see the vacuum starting electrical switch

Any engravings on the cast iron base?

AAV 26 or similar?

Cannot be positive from pictures, but GUESSING that before it became a FRANKENCARB, that it might have been used on a Hudson.
