ssmock
Booked the hotel rooms. Had to call the hotel, get transferred to reservations, wait 20 minutes or so for someone to pick up and who looked up the BCA event and finally booked a room for us. Couldn't do it online, dates aren't open. $99 BCA rate and reservation number so we are set.

B Jake Moran
Since this is scheduled for the same time as the Cadillac LaSalle Club Grand National, in a similar location, is there any consideration fora joint cruise or mutual event? Tony M
Hi all. After taking 2 years off, this meet should be GREAT. There are a lot of fun things to do in Chicago. If you get a chance, take one of the Architectural River Cruises. Way cool. They have also been on WTTW. There's going to be a caravan to the close by town of Lisle on Thursday night. The Museum tours are also great. You almost need a whole day for each museum. Lots of interesting things. The Sheraton grounds are pretty big. Lots of room. I have been a BCA member for a somewhat short time. A little over 10 years. But, I have enjoyed several mid-west meets and the Allentown meet. Drove my 55 Super to all of them except Allentown. I trailered it there. 1st time ever. Mostly because I still have the 4 wheel drum brakes and bias-ply tires, and I wasn't too sure how it would handle the ups and downs. For those of you that are driving, Rt.66 is always a fun trip. Illinois is lucky to have over 400 miles of this historic road that will turn 100 years old in 2026. ( That's also when I plan on driving the 55 to Santa Monica and back). Hope to see everyone in June. I drove my '38 to Allentown... that '55 is a modern car comparatively. Get you a car with mechanical brakes like my '30 then you can worry @Tony M 😆 Edited January 18, 2022 by 38Buick 80C (see edit history) 3
Tony M
I was hoping that I'd get a couple of guys fired up. Great to hear from you. We did drive it to the meet in Oklahoma. That was an absolute BLAST. The old Buick got a lot of attention. 3

B Jake Moran
It is time to start getting excited. It's February 1! National meet in less than 5 months. Agree Chicago has almost too much to do. I have done the architectural river cruise - 2 or 3 companies do that and take you out into Lake Michigan before turning around. Most of the drivers are familiar with city traffic. I would say just take your time.
Mudbone
With the price of gas climbing, do we need to start a GoFundMe for the ones traveling from afar?

Bill Stoneberg
I have made the drive from Texas to Lisle many times since I moved here from Naperville in 1976. It’s about 3,000 miles including the driving around while there. We used to be able to do that in one long day, then we spent one night and now it will be 2 nights. I remember 1 trip, sleeping in a gas station while waiting for it to open during one of the gas shortages. 3,000 miles / 10 mpg * 7.00 gallon = $2100. Hmm.

Buick Regal GS
i cant find the right area to ask a judging question so I thought id try here, Reading the last Bugle that came the story on judging question is in Archival judging if I had to fix the rust under the vinyl roof and put a new top on does it still fit in Archival looking to fill out the registration for Buick meet ,,thank you
TxBuicks
Replacing the vinyl roof will not eliminate your car from Archival judging. You will probably lose a few points for it, but if the rest of the car is original, it could still score high in that class.
