Booked the hotel rooms.  Had to call the hotel, get transferred to reservations, wait 20 minutes or so for someone to pick up and who looked up the BCA event and finally booked a room for us.  Couldn't do it online, dates aren't open.  $99 BCA rate and reservation number so we are set.

Was able to book Hotel room Sunday, 7/11/21, 9:30 pm EDT.  Had to wait over 35 minutes in the que until a "live" rep answered, but the reservation is made.

Hi all. After taking 2 years off, this meet should be GREAT. There are a lot of fun things to do in Chicago. If you get a chance, take one of the Architectural River Cruises. Way cool. They have also been on WTTW. There's going to be a caravan to the close by town of Lisle on Thursday night. The Museum tours are also great. You almost need a whole day for each museum. Lots of interesting things. The Sheraton grounds are pretty big. Lots of room. I have been a BCA member for a somewhat short time. A little over 10 years. But, I have enjoyed several mid-west meets and the Allentown meet. Drove my 55 Super to all of them except Allentown. I trailered it there. 1st time ever. Mostly because I still have the 4 wheel drum brakes and bias-ply tires, and I wasn't too sure how it would handle the ups and downs. For those of you that are driving, Rt.66 is always a fun trip. Illinois is lucky to have over 400 miles of this historic road that will turn 100 years old in 2026. ( That's also when I plan on driving the 55 to Santa Monica and back).

Hope to see everyone in June.

You worry too much Tony.:D

EXACTLY... I drove my '38 to Allentown... that '55 is a modern car comparatively. Get you a car with mechanical brakes like my '30 then you can worry @Tony M 😆

It is time to start getting excited.  It's February 1!  National meet in less than 5 months.   Agree Chicago has almost too much to do.  I have done the architectural river cruise - 2 or 3 companies do that and take you out into Lake Michigan before turning around.

Most of the drivers are familiar with city traffic.  I would say just take your time.

I have made the drive from Texas to Lisle many times since I moved here from Naperville in 1976. It’s about 3,000 miles including the driving around while there.
We used to be able to do that in one long day, then we spent one night and now it will be 2 nights.

I remember 1 trip, sleeping in a gas station while waiting for it to open during one of the gas shortages.

3,000 miles / 10 mpg * 7.00 gallon = $2100.   Hmm.
