1937hd45
Duesenberg had a plant in Elizabeth, N.J. where the Bugatti-King U16 engine was built under license for WWI aircraft. I don't think they produced any automobiles at this location.
Guest BruceW
It appears that the Duesenberg brothers were in New Jersey to develop a car but moved to Indianapolis before production of cars was started. Several sources support this. The following information is from the URL:http://showcase.netins.net/web/hmdusey/Fred-Augie.html"With success on the racetrack, Fred and Augie began in 1921 to develop the prototype for a luxury passenger car. It was built in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where they had moved during the war to build and test engines for the government. Before production was underway, a plant was purchased in Indianapolis, Indiana, and manufacturing began there on what was to be later called the Model A."
