1919 Buick headlight bezel removal

Recommended Posts

I currently need to remove the headlights from my Buick. I have tried to pull and pry at the bezel pretty hard to remove it from the headlight but it does not seem to want to move. The bezel has no screws in it. So I don't damage it I said I post here for safety! Any help would be good.

I believe there is a button on the bucket body. Push that and rotate the bezel

Yes Don there is a little button on the bucket but the bezel is well stuck to the lamp. Do you know if it just a case of turning it and off it should come? (In theory that is!)

There is a latch inside the bucket. Depressing the button should allow the bezel to turn, which way, I do not remember.  Yours is probably just stuck.

It may take a bit of doing to get it to turn since you cant get a really good grip on the rim of the bezel..

Thanks Don. It seemed like that was the method but its always best to check before something gets strained or breaks! Thanks for taking the time to reply. Appreciate it very much

Push the trim ring in while turning counter clockwise and it should come off.  On my vehicles some are easier to get off than others.  Just be patient.

I use a home brew penetrating solution which will do the job better than anything on the commercial market.

Mix 50-50 acetone and automatic transmission fluid.

I have not been disappointed with the results , EVER1
