Pertronix coil

My 65 has a Pertronix Ignitor installed by a previous owner. Instead of using their coil, they chose to add a ceramic resistor to the firewall, and wire thru that. I got a Flamethrower 1.5 ohm coil and decided to do away with the external ballast as this coil doesn't require it.  I have read where lots of folks say you won't notice the difference in any performance,  but I sure did. Had a slight part throttle hiccup on takeoff that seems to be gone now, and throttle response in general seems to be better as well. I don't know; seems worth the 40 bucks to me and is designed to work with the Ignitor as well. Good afternoon project, even though we are at the point in Alabama where our skin starts broiling.

I had a old mustang, and replaced the Crane HI-6 box and coil with a Pertronix 3 and coil, and it made a big improvement. Sharper response, a little better gas mileage. Kinda frustrating considering how much more the Crane stuff cost.
