Guest Posted October 29, 2002 I just purchased a 24 DB roadster. The crank hole cover will not come off when it is turned. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
Guest Posted November 1, 2002 The cover is cast iron and threads through the splash apron hole into the engine. There should be a gasket to seal oil leakage. It unscrews by using the square end of the crank tool in the cover receptical. You might want to use some other correct fit square tool that you can develop more leverage (read torque) with. I would hesitate to do any banging on the cover, you may shatter it.leadfoot

Guest Posted November 5, 2002 I had the same problem. I had to use an impact wrench with short bursts and mine came loose. Turned out I had bought one of the reproductions sold by a DB supplier had the wrong threads. I replaced mine with an old original and have not had the problem again.
