Vacumn Acuators under dash

Recommended Posts

My panel and By Level system  has a bad Actuator or vacuum leak.

When reading the manual it does not explain how to get in and repair.

Anyone have the top of dash or whatever to get to the actuators?

recirculating door operates correctly.

Thanks in advance.

Usually the hard line under the hood gets broken. Find the heater hoses at the fire wall. Directly under them are 2 hard vacuum lines that are for controlling the HVAC. Over time they get brittle and break, causing loss of HVAC zone selection control.

Start with that and let us know what you find. :)

one line feeds vacuum to control valve. (dark color}

2nd line back out to feed water valve vacuum  . (grey color)

Would like to know if anyone has ventured into actuators.  After vacuum changes air flow to panel or by flow when next acceleration

it looses vacuum and defaults back to defroster. One way valves (under hood) checks OK

It is mounted high above the accelerator on the AC / Heater housing.

Later cars started coming with vacuum reservoirs. The V6 cars have one that sits next to the battery. The 4-cylinder cars got one that looks like an old 35mm film canister.
