Adambravo
I’m occasionally frustrated by the lack of a cup holder in my 63 and don’t like drinks rattling around in my center console. I’ve seen solutions on Amazon that slot a pocket between the seat and center console. Anyone ever try one out (or have other ideas? Thanks in advance... Pat Curran
You can get some foam rubber/Styrofoam and create an insert for your console compartment. I have seen a few creations over the years with some better than others.
Seafoam65
Go to amazon and look at the "Couch Coaster" I believe this will sit right on top of your closed console lid and won't scratch anything. I'm going to order one for my Riviera and my GTO.
RivNut
They're permanent but I know of a guy who put collapsible marine cup holders on the sides of the console in his 65. Painted them to match. Doesn't look too bad when folded up. Works great when folded down. NC1968Riviera
Check out https://classicconsoles.com. They manufacturer the bench seat style arm rests with integrated cup holders. They also make ashtray hole cup holders. They don't sell directly to the public but they have a list of vendors on their site. Adambravo
Thanks! Unfortunately, they don’t seem to have a product for Rivieras. Plus, my car has bucket seats...

And a console with a shifter lever. One guy I know mounted some permanently to the sides of his console. I think they're actually a marine or RV product. But it folds up when not in use. He painted his to match his console and it's really pretty much out of sight when folded up. But as I said, it's permanent.

steelman
Not enough head room in my Riviera for this solution, as I am rather tall. But nice try.

Do you know if your friend was able to simple screw them to the console, or did he use something more robust?

Looks like plenty of surface area on the back to where the use of 3M double sided foam tape should work great. Use outdoor grade. No permanent damage to your console. You may lose paint if/when removed but you could always repaint later.
