roger210
Anyone know if the steering system of bel air v8 265 is different from the 6 inline? I put a 250 6 inline chevy engine in a bel air but the steering bars do not fit because of the oil pan....
28 Chrysler
The 1956 inline six was a 235 if I remember. I believe the 250 came out in 1959, but I don;t do much with Chevy s.
Bloo
It was more like 1963 or 1964. 28 Chrysler is correct that the 1956 six was a 235. The 235 is a completely different engine. You probably need a different oil pan and oil pickup. It most likely does exist, but I don't know what it would have been used in. Frank DuVal
250 first year was 1966! The 194 came out in 1962, but was not used in full sized cars that year, Chevy II only. 1962 was the last year for the stove bolt six in 235 cu in form in a full size Chevrolet. The 230 came out in 1963 for full size Chevrolet cars. In 1964 it was also in the Chevelle.
