Jimmy S
This is the filter off the carb on my 32 Chrysler, it’s a bit damaged. Any ideas where I could find another? thanks
Laughing Coyote
I would try to repair it first. Find a piece of heavy walled tubing that the filter will slip over, Then reshape the flanges with a hammer to make them round again. I always try to repair first before replace.
Guest
"Flame Arresters" come up on eBay often. Many different sizes.
wayne sheldon
My dad used to say that such air filters were designed to keep small rocks and low flying birds out of the engine. Regardless, no proper restoration or preservation of a car that had such a filter is complete without one. But if you think that needs a replacement? You haven't resurrected anything bad yet! Looks like an easy fix.
keiser31
I agree with trying to fix it. I have had a few different styles of those and that looks to be VERY easily repaired.
auburnseeker
I would say fix as well unless you have a bad dent in the louvered area somewhere you didn't show. Try running that number on ebay in current and completed listings if you really must have a new one. Even a google image search may find one for sale listed on a different site. keiser31
That number on the side is the "size". It is not a part number.
John_Mereness
I doubt you will find a better one than the one in your hand - find a round piece of metal stock (mandrel) of about the same diameter and spend a little hammer time on the flange,
Jimmy S
I can fix it.... I just thought there might be new ones or replacements available. It’ll be on for shows.... not much protecting there which explains my .060” oversized bore

As near as I can tell, it reads: "4.6X144". Or am I seeing things? If so, what size would that be ... metric? Cheers, Grog
Bhigdog
If you want to get retentive cut the pipe portion off and tig a new one on. For the body just a tap here and there, bead blast and paint................Bob
