Spazzaroth
So summer is hitting Southwest Louisiana pretty hard this year and I'm trying to get the most out of my Reatta's AC. I Charged up the 134a recently but I noticed that the blower is pretty weak coming out of the vents. It's not terrible but it takes about 10 or 15 minutes of driving to cool the car off. So the question I have is, are there any filters or vents or anything like that in the blower system that I can clean to get better airflow? Thanks in advance! DS_Porter 89 Burgandy
Yes At the top of the firewall in the center you will find the fan speed resistor. If you remove it you will have access to the heat exchanger for the A/C. Over a long period of time it will begin to plug up. You can clean it through this access hole. You can also remove the fan motor for additional access but do the fan speed resistor first to see how bad it is. It is not an easy job but It made a big difference. I was surprised how dirty mine was.
Spazzaroth
Well I pulled the fan speed resistor off and the inside of that box was totally clean. Although I did see a radiator grille right behind it but I couldn't see on the other side to see if that need to get clean or not.
harry yarnell
Down in the hole from the blower controller, look to your left; that honeycomb looking thing is the evaporator. It gets clogged with lint, blocking air flow. If it's clear (clean) leave it alone. If clogged, stick a hose (water) in there and flush it off.
