Starter for 29 DeSoto K

Sent mine to be rebuilt but goy is having trouble trying to find internal parts for NorthEast starter.Is there another starter that would work for me as a repacement?

Hmmm. I see the armature in that NE starter is used ONLY in the 29-30 DeSoto K.

 

But the National Service Data manual says these ones can interchange. There were two armatures used in these cars, 1929 and 1929-30 according to Chiltons.

In another reference, it says the K 1929 used a Delco Remy 714-J starter. No doubt that is the interchangeable armature. The 1929-30 K-1 used a NE SBH6534. Is this what you have?

 

So it seems to me a 714-J might work. The CF and CK used a 714-Q as did the Chrysler CJ and 1930 6. 1929-32 & 1934 Chev used a 714-L. Some Chrysler 70 used a 714-P.
