Kevin M
The previous owner of my car put in the mirror with the compass direction in the corner. That doesn’t work and I’d rather have my reatta be closer to stock. I found the tutorial on Ronnie’s site for installing it and was wondering if there’s anything to do besides follow it in reverse. Here’s what I’m talking about http://www.reattaowner.com/roj/component/content/article/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&catid=62:other-electrical&id=299:compass-rear-view-mirror-install-instructions-
DAVES89
You could do it in reverse unless the connector plug is still visible. If it is just unplug your existing mirror. Then loosen the torx screw and slide the mirror towards the ceiling. Take your factory original mirror and plug it in then slide it back down the bracket and tighten the screw. If you need a factory mirror I have one available. [Cheap]
Kevin M
I have a factory mirror. I think the plug is still attached on mine. I haven’t looked up inside the headliner in a while. It’s the same metal piece glued to the windshield for both types?
DAVES89
The mirror clip on the windshield is the same. Look carefully you may not have to remove the headliner. If you are careful you could track the wire back and feel for the connector.
Kevin M
Well that took like five minutes. Are the mirror lights supposed to come on with the interior lights? Or are they separate?
DAVES89
I believe they are separate.
